England began their World Cup campaign with a dramatic 4–2 victory over Croatia in a high-intensity Group L clash in Dallas.
Harry Kane was the star of the show, scoring twice, including a retaken penalty, while Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford also found the net as Thomas Tuchel’s side overcame a spirited Croatian team.

England took the lead in the 12th minute when Kane converted from the penalty spot after Luka Modrić was penalised for a foul on Noni Madueke. Although Dominik Livaković saved the first attempt, the referee ordered a retake for encroachment, and Kane made no mistake second time around.
Croatia responded strongly and levelled in the 36th minute through Martin Baturina, who fired a powerful strike past Jordan Pickford.

England restored their advantage just before the break when Kane rose highest to meet a Declan Rice corner, heading in his second of the night.
However, Croatia struck again almost immediately, with Petar Musa finishing from close range in the final moments of the first half to make it 2–2 at the break.
After the restart, England regained control as Jude Bellingham surged forward to finish clinically shortly after the interval, putting the Three Lions back in front.

Marcus Rashford, introduced from the bench, added a fourth late on with a composed finish to seal the victory and ease late pressure.
While England’s attack impressed throughout, defensive vulnerabilities were exposed by a Croatia side that refused to back down.
England now turn their attention to their next Group L fixture against Ghana in Boston.
