The White House has released the results of President Donald Trump’s latest medical examination, declaring him physically and mentally fit to continue serving as President amid renewed scrutiny over his health.
The report followed a comprehensive medical assessment conducted at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center earlier this week.
Although details were not immediately released after the examination, the eventual publication of the findings came after days of speculation regarding the President’s health status.
In a memorandum issued by White House physician Captain Sean P. Barbabella, Trump was described as being in “excellent health” and fully capable of performing the responsibilities of Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.
According to the report, the President continues to demonstrate strong cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological and overall physical function.
The medical update also addressed visible concerns that have attracted public attention in recent months, including bruising on Trump’s hands and swelling around his lower legs.
Doctors attributed the bruising to frequent handshaking combined with aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention, describing the condition as harmless.
The report further stated that mild swelling observed in the lower legs had improved compared with previous assessments.
Trump had earlier sought to reassure supporters by announcing on his Truth Social platform that the examination had gone “perfectly” and that all test results were satisfactory.
The health report arrives at a politically sensitive time, with the President approaching his 80th birthday and public debate intensifying over the age and fitness of America’s political leaders.
Questions surrounding presidential health disclosures have become increasingly prominent in Washington following discussions about the physical and cognitive fitness of senior political figures from both major parties.
The White House insists there are no concerns regarding Trump’s ability to perform his duties.
According to the report, neurological evaluations showed normal mental functioning, while doctors also provided routine counselling on nutrition, physical activity, weight management and preventive healthcare measures.
With the next election cycle already shaping national political conversations, Trump’s health is likely to remain a subject of close public and political scrutiny in the months ahead.
