Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek has firmly shut down mounting speculation surrounding the future of talismanic Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, declaring that the reigning Turkish champions have absolutely no intention of listening to transfer offers during the upcoming summer window.
Speaking during a live broadcast on HT Spor, Özbek dismissed intensifying rumors linking the Super Eagles forward with several of Europe’s elite clubs. The club president emphasized that setting a valuation for the striker is out of the question because a transfer is simply not on the table.
"We are not considering selling Victor Osimhen," Özbek stated unequivocally. "Putting a price on a player we don’t intend to sell is like dressing a footballer before he’s even born."
Beyond his clinical on-field contributions, Özbek praised Osimhen's profound cultural impact in Istanbul, noting that the striker's charisma and elite performance levels have re-energized the club's youth demographic. He remarked that Osimhen is single-handedly inspiring a second generation of Galatasaray fans, highlighting the forward's rapidly growing legacy at the Rams Park.
Osimhen completed a highly publicized permanent transfer to Galatasaray from Italian side Napoli in the summer of 2025. The permanent move followed an exceptionally successful initial loan spell with the Istanbul giants, where his crucial goals spearheaded the club's domestic double-winning campaign.
The forward's explosive form has carried into the current season. Osimhen served as the focal point of Galatasaray’s successful Turkish Süper Lig title defense and engineered a historic continental run that saw the club reach the Round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League.
The Nigerian international's underlying metrics for the campaign underscore his elite European status. Across 33 appearances in all competitions, Osimhen delivered a remarkable campaign by registering 22 goals and providing eight assists, bringing his total to 30 direct goal contributions.
This relentless consistency in front of goal has reportedly re-ignited the interest of traditional European heavyweights, with scouts from Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona all monitoring his situation. However, with Galatasaray's leadership taking a hardline stance, any suitors looking to lure the African Footballer of the Year away from Istanbul will face an impenetrable wall.
