Tunisia has appointed renowned French coach Hervé Renard as head coach of the national team until the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.

The announcement follows the departure of Sabri Lamouchi after Tunisia's heavy 5-1 defeat to Sweden.

The Tunisian Football Federation confirmed that an agreement had been reached with the 56-year-old coach, widely regarded as one of the most successful managers in African football history.

Renard boasts an impressive resume that includes Africa Cup of Nations triumphs with Zambia in 2012 and Côte d'Ivoire in 2015, making him the first coach to win the tournament with two different nations.

He also guided Morocco back to the FIFA World Cup in 2018 after a two-decade absence.

Globally, Renard gained further acclaim after leading Saudi Arabia to a shock victory over eventual champions Argentina at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Tunisia will now look to the experienced tactician to revive their campaign as they prepare for crucial group-stage matches against Japan and the Netherlands.
