The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following his victory at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election, describing the outcome as a clear affirmation of his leadership and service to Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, said the overwhelming support recorded during the primaries reflected the confidence Nigerians and party members continue to place in Tinubu’s administration and vision for the country.
Uzodimma stated that the President’s emergence as the APC flagbearer for the 2027 presidential election was a well-deserved recognition of what he described as Tinubu’s commitment to democratic governance, national development and political stability. “It was a victory foretold. A validation by Nigerians to continue with your good works and further strengthen democracy,” the statement read.
The governors noted that the large turnout witnessed across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory during the primary election underscored Tinubu’s popularity within the ruling party and among supporters nationwide. “The long lines in the 36 states and Abuja said it all: an acknowledgement of your hard work, uncommon sacrifice and fervent love for country,” Uzodimma added.
The forum further praised the President’s leadership style, describing him as a patriot whose policies and reforms have continued to shape the direction of governance in Nigeria despite prevailing economic and political challenges.
According to the statement, Tinubu’s emergence was not merely a party victory but also a reflection of the trust many Nigerians have placed in the APC-led administration.
The governors also assured the President of their continued loyalty and political support ahead of the 2027 general election, stressing that the forum remains committed to ensuring the party retains power at the national level. “We shall always stand by you because we believe in your vision, your capacity and your exemplary patriotism as the President of Nigeria,” the statement added.
The Progressive Governors Forum further expressed optimism that the outcome of the primaries would translate into victory for the APC in the 2027 presidential election as political activities gradually intensify across the country.
