Supporters of the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, on Thursday continued their protest at the Oyo State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that it is "Adelabu or nothing" as they rejected what they described as an alleged attempt to impose a governorship candidate ahead of the party's 2027 governorship primary.

The protesters called on the APC leadership to allow a transparent, credible and democratic process in selecting the party's governorship flag bearer, warning that any attempt to sideline aspirants could undermine internal democracy and deepen divisions within the party.

Chanting solidarity songs and carrying placards bearing pro-Adelabu messages, the demonstrators declared their support for the minister, saying, "It's Bayo Adelabu that we want as our candidate. We say no to Sharafadeen Alli. It's either Adelabu or say goodbye to the 2027 elections."

The protesters also questioned the governorship ambition of Sharafadeen Alli, urging him to clarify his political intentions amid reports linking him to the pursuit of a traditional royal stool.

They argued that anyone seeking to become a traditional ruler should not simultaneously aspire to occupy the state's highest political office.
