
Grammy-Nominated Producer Tay Keith Dies at 29

Grammy-nominated American music producer Tay Keith, one of hip-hop’s most influential hitmakers, has died at the age of 29.
Tay Keith, whose real name was Brytavious Chambers, was reportedly found unresponsive in his apartment in Nashville after authorities conducted a welfare check. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, no foul play is suspected. Officials said the exact cause of death will be determined following an autopsy.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Tay Keith rose from local producer to global music heavyweight, helping shape some of the biggest rap records of the last decade.
He gained international recognition through his work on Travis Scott’s blockbuster hit “Sicko Mode,” which earned him a Grammy nomination and cemented his reputation as one of the industry's most sought-after producers.
His catalogue also included major records such as Drake’s “Nonstop” and BlocBoy JB’s “Look Alive,” another chart-topping collaboration featuring Drake.
Over the course of his career, Tay Keith worked with some of the biggest names in contemporary music, including Beyoncé, Cardi B, Eminem, Future, Lil Nas X, Megan Thee Stallion and Sexyy Red.
Beyond music, he was recognised for balancing professional success with education. Despite his rapid rise in the industry, he completed his studies and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2018.
News of his death prompted an outpouring of tributes from fans, fellow artists and music executives, many of whom described him as one of the defining producers of modern hip-hop.
His influence on contemporary rap production helped shape the sound of a generation of artists, making him one of the most recognisable names behind the scenes in global music.
