The All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial aspirant for Sokoto East, Hon. Umar Ajiyan Isa, has intensified grassroots mobilisation across the district in a move aimed at consolidating the party's dominance and strengthening its support base.
Ajiya continued his political outreach with strategic meetings in Gwadabawa and Wurno Local Government Areas, where he engaged party executives and stakeholders as political realignments and consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections,
According to him, there is a need for grassroots leaders to remain united, intensify mobilisation efforts, and strengthen the party's organisational structures in preparation for the next electoral cycle.
"We must remain united and committed to the ideals of our party. I urge all members to continue working together to strengthen the APC and advance its political fortunes across Sokoto East"
He said that the strength of any political party lies in its grassroots structures, adding that continuous engagement with members and stakeholders would help sustain the party's influence and electoral success in the district.
According to him, the consultations were designed to deepen interactions with party faithful, assess the state of the party's structures and explore strategies for expanding support across communities.
Political observers say the outreach reflects growing efforts by key APC figures to consolidate their political bases as parties begin laying the groundwork for the 2027 contests.
The meetings brought together ward executives, party secretaries, youth leaders, women groups and other influential stakeholders from the two local government areas, who deliberated on issues affecting the party and ways of strengthening internal unity.
While chairing the session the Campaign Coordinator and APC Deputy Chairman for Sokoto East Zone, Alhaji Muhammadu Musa Sarkin Alaru underscored the need for sustained grassroots mobilisation and effective coordination among party members.
He urged stakeholders to remain committed to the ideals of the APC and work collectively towards preserving the party's dominance in the senatorial district.
Members of Ajiya campaign team and other political stakeholders also attended the engagements, which provided an opportunity for direct interaction with grassroots leaders and assessment of the party's readiness for future political activities.
Several stakeholders who spoke at the meetings expressed confidence that the renewed consultations would strengthen party unity, energise supporters and further consolidate the APC's hold on Sokoto East ahead of the 2027 elections.
The latest outreach comes amid increasing political activities across Sokoto State, where aspirants and party leaders are intensifying consultations and building alliances in anticipation of what analysts predict could be a highly competitive electoral season.
For many political watchers, Sokoto East remains a critical stronghold in the state's political equation, making ongoing grassroots engagements and organisational strengthening crucial factors in shaping the outcome of future elections in the district.
