Nigeria’s Chukwuebuka Enekwechi continued his strong 2026 campaign with a silver-medal finish at the Ostrava Golden Spike meeting in the Czech Republic, recording a season’s best throw of 21.43 metres.
Competing in a high-quality international field, Enekwechi produced his best effort in the third round to secure second place behind Italy’s Leonardo Fabbri, who won gold with a throw of 21.91 metres. New Zealand’s Tom Walsh placed third with 21.26 metres.
The performance adds to a consistent season for the Nigerian athlete, who has remained among the top performers on the global shot put circuit. Earlier in the month, he won gold at the Znamensky Memorial in Russia with a throw of 21.27 metres.
His latest result further strengthens his momentum as he builds toward major international championships later in the year.
