VDM Claims He Rejected ₦50m Offer to Campaign for Adeleke, Opens Up on Davido Rift

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has claimed that he turned down an alleged ₦50 million offer to campaign for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, saying the decision contributed to the reported breakdown of his relationship with Nigerian music star Davido.

The activist made the claim in a video that has gone viral on social media, where he addressed growing speculation about why he and the award-winning singer are no longer seen together publicly.

According to VDM, the alleged offer came through people close to Davido, who is Governor Adeleke's nephew. He claimed he was invited to meet the governor and offered ₦50 million to participate in a campaign, but insisted he declined the proposal despite the financial incentive.

Speaking in Pidgin English, VDM said: "Davido and his crew offered me money. They called me to come and meet the governor, his uncle and said I would collect ₦50 million. Ask them what I told them. A lot of people would have collected it because ₦50 million is not a small amount, but I rejected it."

The activist, however, did not provide any evidence to support his allegation or identify those who allegedly made the offer.

VDM also recalled what he described as the last major conversation he had with Davido, linking it to an earlier controversy involving the singer's promise to give 5,000 dollars to a young man in Ghana.

According to him, many social media users criticised him after the promised payment was delayed, believing he and Davido had used the incident for publicity.

He said he subsequently contacted the singer privately through a direct message to remind him about the pledge.

"The last time Davido and I even spoke was over that Ghana boy he promised 5,000 dollars. I don't know whether he forgot or was just busy. People were insulting me because they thought we used the whole thing for clout. I sent him a message asking him to pay the boy, and after that they eventually paid him," VDM said.

The activist did not specifically state that the alleged campaign offer was the sole reason for the reported breakdown in their relationship, but suggested it marked a turning point.

As of the time of filing this report, Davido has not publicly responded to VDM's claims.

The allegations have continued to generate reactions across social media, with many users debating the activist's comments. However, SkyHigh News Hub could not independently verify VDM's claims regarding the alleged ₦50 million offer, and no official statement has been issued by Governor Ademola Adeleke or his media team on the matter.

The pair had previously maintained a cordial public relationship, frequently interacting online and supporting each other's activities, making recent speculation about an apparent rift a subject of widespread discussion among their followers.
