Facebook has retained its position as the world's largest social media platform, topping the latest ranking of the Top 10 Social Media Platforms by monthly active users.

According to the latest report, Facebook records 5.7 billion monthly active users, placing it well ahead of every other social media platform in terms of global reach and user engagement.

Coming in second is YouTube, with 2.0 billion monthly active users, reinforcing its position as one of the world's leading video-sharing and streaming platforms.

WhatsApp also recorded 2.0 billion monthly active users, highlighting its continued dominance in instant messaging and digital communication across the globe.

Instagram ranks fourth with 800 million monthly active users, followed by TikTok, which has 689 million monthly active users and continues to strengthen its influence in short-form video content and creator-driven entertainment.

Snapchat occupies the sixth position with 433 million monthly active users, while Reddit follows closely with 430 million monthly active users, reflecting the growing popularity of online discussion communities.

Pinterest ranks eighth with 416 million monthly active users, maintaining its position as one of the world's leading visual discovery and inspiration platforms.

Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, records 353 million monthly active users, while LinkedIn completes the top ten with 310 million monthly active users, remaining the leading professional networking platform globally.

The report underscores the growing influence of social media platforms in shaping global communication, digital marketing, commerce, education, entertainment and information sharing.

As internet penetration and smartphone adoption continue to rise worldwide, analysts expect competition among major social media platforms to intensify, with companies investing heavily in artificial intelligence, content creation, creator monetisation and user engagement to expand their digital footprint.
