South Korean President Lee Receives Daduut as Nigeria’s Ambassador

Prof. Nora Ladi Daduut has officially assumed office as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea after presenting her Letter of Credence to South Korean President Lee Jae Myung at the Blue House in Seoul.

The credential presentation ceremony, held on Wednesday, formally accredited Daduut to begin her diplomatic assignment, in line with international diplomatic protocol requiring ambassadors to present letters of credence from their Heads of State before taking up official duties.

President Lee also received the credentials of newly appointed ambassadors from Brazil, El Salvador, Colombia, Laos, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Tanzania and Nigeria, officially recognising them as their respective countries’ diplomatic representatives in South Korea.

With the presentation of her credentials, Daduut is now fully accredited as Nigeria’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Korea.

Her appointment is expected to further strengthen diplomatic and economic relations between Nigeria and South Korea, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, technology transfer, education, cultural exchange and strategic cooperation.

President Lee welcomed the new ambassadors and expressed confidence that their appointments would contribute to strengthening bilateral ties between South Korea and their respective countries.

Speaking after the ceremony, Daduut pledged to deepen the longstanding friendship between Nigeria and South Korea while promoting Nigeria’s national interest through active diplomacy.

She also assured Nigerians living in South Korea of an open-door policy at the Nigerian Embassy, promising to prioritise their welfare and promote stronger people-to-people relations, educational exchanges and business partnerships.

The ambassador expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the confidence reposed in her, pledging to justify the appointment through dedicated service and efforts to attract greater Korean investment, technology and innovation to support Nigeria’s economic development.

Ahead of the presentation of her credentials, Daduut met with the President of the Korea-Africa Foundation, Kim Young Chae, where both sides explored opportunities to deepen cooperation between Nigeria and South Korea in areas of mutual interest.
