The Kogi State Government has announced the acquisition of 50 armoured vehicles as part of a broader strategy to strengthen security operations and enhance the protection of lives and property across the state.
The development was disclosed by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo during an inspection of the first batch of five armoured vehicles already delivered to the state.
According to the governor, the investment underscores the administration's commitment to supporting security agencies and improving their operational effectiveness in combating criminal activities.
He explained that the vehicles are designed to provide additional protection for security personnel during patrols, tactical deployments and special operations, particularly in areas facing security challenges.

The governor noted that the acquisition comes amid ongoing efforts to reinforce the state's security architecture and create a safer environment for residents, businesses and investors.
Government officials said the armoured vehicles would be distributed to relevant security agencies operating within Kogi State to improve surveillance, rapid response capabilities and operational mobility.
The administration believes that the deployment of the specialised vehicles will strengthen ongoing efforts to tackle criminality, improve public safety and reassure citizens of the government's determination to maintain peace and stability.
The purchase represents one of the latest security interventions by the state government as authorities continue to work with security agencies to address emerging threats and safeguard communities across Kogi State.
