JAMB Releases Original UTME 2026 Result Slips for Admission Processing

Candidates who participated in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can now access and print their original result slips following their release by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The examination body announced on Wednesday that the original result slips are now available for printing, marking another key stage in the admission process for the 2026/2027 academic session.

In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB said the document contains candidates photographs, national rankings and other security features required by tertiary institutions during admission processing.

“The 2026 UTME Original Result Slip will be available for printing today, Wednesday, 17 June 2026,” the board stated.

Unlike the notification of results initially issued after the examination, the original result slip serves as the official admission document required by universities, polytechnics and colleges of education during post-UTME screening and verification exercises.

JAMB advised candidates to carefully review the information contained on the slip immediately after printing and ensure that all personal details are accurate.

The board further urged candidates to keep multiple copies of the document, noting that it would be required at various stages of the admission process.

The release of the original result slips is expected to facilitate post-UTME registrations across tertiary institutions nationwide, many of which are expected to begin admission screening activities in the coming weeks.

Admission Timelines

The development follows agreements reached by JAMB and heads of tertiary institutions during the 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions held in May.

At the meeting, public universities agreed to conclude their admission processes by October 31, 2026.

Private universities were given until November 30, while polytechnics, colleges of education and other tertiary institutions are expected to complete admissions by December 31.

JAMB warned that institutions that fail to conclude admissions within the approved timeframe risk losing access to candidates through the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS), the platform used for processing admissions nationwide.

The board also approved a four-week window for candidates to either accept or reject admission offers.

According to JAMB, any admission offer not accepted within the stipulated period may be deleted upon the request of the admitting institution.

The board said the measures are aimed at ensuring a transparent, efficient and timely admission process across the country's tertiary education system.
