The Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, CP Falade Adegoroye Micheal, has charged personnel of the Command's Safer Highway Unit to uphold discipline, professionalism and respect for human rights while carrying out their duties.

Addressing the officers on Tuesday, the police commissioner described discipline as the foundation of effective policing and urged personnel to conduct themselves with integrity, accountability and professionalism at all times.

CP Falade warned officers against corruption, extortion, misconduct and other illegal acts, stressing that the command operates a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and indiscipline.

He cautioned that any personnel found engaging in acts capable of bringing the Nigeria Police Force into disrepute would face sanctions in line with the law and existing police regulations.

The commissioner also reminded officers of their constitutional obligation to respect and protect the fundamental human rights of citizens, noting that policing must always be guided by fairness, justice and the rule of law.

He further urged the personnel to remain courteous, vigilant and committed to ensuring the safety of road users across the state while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism in their interactions with the public.
