Davido Announces Sixth Studio Album Oriadé, Sets July 31 Release Date

Afrobeats superstar Davido has announced that his sixth studio album, Oriadé, will be released on July 31, marking another milestone in a career that has now spanned 15 years.

The five-time Grammy Award nominee made the announcement in an exclusive interview with Billboard and through a teaser shared across his social media platforms.

Announcing the project, the singer wrote:

"Oriadé 31st July. The kingdom expands. Chosen long before the throne. Pre-order my new album now."

The album title combines the Yoruba words "ori" (head or destiny) and "adé" (crown), symbolising destiny, honour and fulfilment.

Its announcement video reflects that cultural inspiration, featuring Davido dressed in a wine-and-black traditional outfit adorned with beads while standing beside a throne and a crown.

A Personal and Cultural Statement

Speaking about the project, Davido described Oriadé as a deeply personal body of work that reflects both his journey and his commitment to taking African music to even greater heights.

"Over fifteen years ago, I decided to trust something I couldn't fully explain… I just knew music was my destiny. Oriadé is a celebration of the journey that led me to where I am now.

"To be in a position where I can help push African music forward around the world is something I'll never take for granted. I hope when people hear my new album, they understand that purpose doesn't always follow the expected path. The biggest blessings often come from betting on yourself, even when the destination isn't in sight yet."

The award-winning artiste also revealed that the forthcoming album represents a return to the musical style that first established him as one of Africa's biggest stars.

"The recent music I've been working on is really, really African. I'm taking it back to my original Davido kind of music," he said.

Shortest Studio Album Yet

Oriadé will contain 13 tracks, making it the shortest studio album of Davido's career.

It follows his previous studio projects, Omo Baba Olowo (2012), A Good Time (2019), A Better Time (2020), Timeless (2023) and 5ive (2025), each of which featured 17 songs.

The rollout for the new project began with the release of its lead single, I Know Who I Be, which dropped on Friday.

The album arrives after the success of 5ive, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard World Albums chart and earned Davido his fifth consecutive top-five entry on the chart.

That project featured collaborations with Omah Lay, Chris Brown, Victoria Monét, Becky G, Shenseea and YG Marley, while the Omah Lay-assisted hit With You became one of the biggest Afrobeats records of 2025.

Landmark Year

The announcement caps another eventful year for Davido.

In April, he made his debut at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival with a 45-minute performance that featured a surprise appearance by Adekunle Gold.

He also collaborated with Major Lazer and Nelly Furtado on No Place Like Home, the official soundtrack of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and performed the song during the tournament's countdown concert in Los Angeles.

Although Davido has yet to unveil the full tracklist or guest features, anticipation continues to build among fans ahead of the album's release, with many expecting another project that will further cement his influence on the global Afrobeats scene.
