Brazil recorded their first victory of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a commanding 3-0 win over Haiti in Philadelphia on Friday, moving into strong contention for a place in the knockout stage.
Matheus Cunha starred for the five-time world champions, scoring twice in the first half before Vinicius Junior added a third on the stroke of halftime to seal a comfortable victory.

The result leaves Brazil on four points from two Group C matches following their opening 1-1 draw against Morocco, while Haiti became the first team eliminated from the tournament after suffering a second consecutive defeat.
Brazil dominated possession and created the better chances throughout the contest. Cunha opened the scoring in the 23rd minute before doubling the advantage 13 minutes later with a powerful finish.
Vinicius Junior then effectively ended the contest deep into first-half stoppage time, calmly converting to give Carlo Ancelotti's side a three-goal cushion heading into the break.
Brazil thought they had added a fourth goal in the second half through substitute Endrick, but the effort was ruled out for offside.

The only concern for Brazil was an injury to Raphinha, who was forced off in the 39th minute after an earlier goal had been disallowed.
Despite the setback, Brazil comfortably controlled the remainder of the match, limiting Haiti to few opportunities and recording a deserved clean sheet.
The victory puts Brazil in a strong position ahead of their final Group C fixture against Scotland, while Haiti's World Cup campaign will conclude against Morocco.

Brazil now know that another positive result in their final group match could secure progression to the Round of 32 as they continue their pursuit of a sixth FIFA World Cup title.
