Accord Officially Presents Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat as Oyo Governorship Candidate

The leadership of the Accord in Oyo State and at the national level has officially announced the emergence of Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat as the party’s gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 Oyo State Governorship Election.

In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary of Accord, Oyo State, Hon. Badru Idris Oriyomi, the party said Hamzat emerged victorious after a transparent, peaceful, and rigorous primary election conducted in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Electoral Act, the party’s constitution, and the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to the statement, Hamzat earned the confidence and overwhelming support of party delegates across the state, securing his emergence as the party’s duly elected governorship candidate.

The party described his victory as more than the emergence of a candidate, saying it signals the beginning of a renewed movement driven by competence, integrity, people-centred leadership, and an unwavering commitment to the progress of Oyo State.

“The outcome of the primary election reflects the collective resolve of our members to offer the people of Oyo State a credible and transformative alternative,” the statement said.

Accord also expressed appreciation to party members, delegates, aspirants, stakeholders, volunteers, and supporters whose commitment and discipline made the primary election successful.

The party further thanked the people of Oyo State for what it described as overwhelming goodwill, encouragement, and growing belief in its vision.

As preparations begin for the 2027 governorship election, Accord called on all party faithful to remain united, focused, and committed to the shared goal of building a prosperous, inclusive, and secure Oyo State.

“The primary election is over; now is the time to consolidate our strength and work together for victory at the polls,” the statement added.
