The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Engr. Dr. Emeka Agbasi and the Chairman of the Agency’s Governing Board, Dr. Musa Babayo, recently participated in a two-day Orientation Course organised by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) in collaboration with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF).
The programme, which was held in Abuja, brought together Heads of Management and Boards of Federal Government Agencies and Parastatals to deliberate on critical issues relating to institutional leadership, public sector governance, accountability and efficient service delivery.

Speaking on the significance of the programme, Dr. Agbasi noted that the orientation provided a valuable platform for strategic engagement and knowledge sharing among leaders of public institutions, particularly at a time when the Federal Government is intensifying efforts to deepen reforms across the public service.
According to him, the discussions and insights gained during the programme will contribute significantly to strengthening governance structures, enhancing institutional effectiveness and improving service delivery across government agencies.

The FERMA boss expressed satisfaction at attending the programme alongside the Agency’s Board Chairman, Dr. Musa Babayo, describing the engagement as an opportunity to reinforce their shared commitment to effective leadership, transparency and accountability in the discharge of FERMA’s mandate.
He further stated that platforms such as the orientation course remain essential for fostering collaboration among public institutions, exchanging best practices and aligning organisational objectives with the broader vision of building a more efficient, responsive and citizen-centred public service.

Dr. Agbasi reaffirmed FERMA’s commitment to supporting ongoing public sector reforms and ensuring that the Agency continues to contribute meaningfully to national development through improved road maintenance and infrastructure management across the country.
