
Police Confirm Death of Four Corps Members, Soldier in Adamawa Auto Crash

The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed the death of six persons following a devastating road accident involving a military vehicle and a commercial passenger bus along the Girei-Song axis of the state.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:50 p.m. on June 3 in the Narehi area and involved a military gun truck travelling from Gombi to Yola and a commercial Hummer bus conveying passengers from Yola to Mubi.

According to preliminary police findings, both vehicles collided head-on, causing the commercial bus to overturn and immediately burst into flames. All five passengers aboard the bus were trapped and burnt beyond recognition.
Authorities have confirmed that four of the victims were serving members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) posted to Adamawa State.
Two of the victims have been identified as Juliet Suleiman and Usman Shuaibu, both natives of Kaduna State, while efforts continue to identify the remaining deceased. The Police Command also confirmed the death of a military personnel attached to the military vehicle involved in the collision.
Emergency responders, including police officers and other rescue agencies, swiftly arrived at the scene and evacuated the victims to the Specialist Hospital in Yola.
Police spokesperson SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje said investigations have commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police Kabir Umar Hassan extended condolences to the families of the deceased, the Nigerian Armed Forces, the NYSC and all others affected by the tragedy.
He described the incident as heartbreaking and assured the public that authorities would continue efforts to identify all victims and notify their families.
