The Minister of Defence, retired General Christopher Musa, is set to chair the maiden edition of the Nigeria Private Security Conference (NPSC) 2026 as the country seeks to strengthen collaboration between public and private security institutions.

Organisers of the conference announced that the event would hold on June 13, 2026, in Abuja under the theme: “Building a Modern Security Ecosystem: Integrating Private Sector Capacity into Nigeria’s National Security Architecture.” The conference is expected to attract a broad range of stakeholders, including senior government officials, defence and intelligence agencies, private security operators, investors, technology experts and international delegates.

According to the organisers, the gathering is designed to serve as a strategic national platform for discussions on how Nigeria can build a more coordinated and technology-driven security framework capable of responding to evolving threats.

In a letter dated May 20 and signed by Group Captain M.K. Nanle on behalf of the Defence Minister, General Musa formally accepted the invitation to chair the conference. The minister described the initiative as a timely and structured effort aimed at fostering deeper collaboration between government institutions and private sector stakeholders in the security industry.

He noted that modern security challenges require collective responses involving defence agencies, intelligence institutions, technology companies and licensed private operators.

The organisers stated that the conference would focus on emerging security threats, technological innovations, intelligence sharing, investment opportunities and the role of private security companies in complementing national security operations. They also expressed optimism that the conference would open new pathways for partnerships capable of strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture amid rising concerns over terrorism, cybercrime, kidnapping and organised criminal activities.

The event is expected to feature panel discussions, expert presentations and strategic policy conversations involving local and international participants from across the security sector.
