Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has warned that countries in the Middle East will no longer serve as protective buffers for American military installations in the region.
The warning was delivered in a written message circulated through Iranian state media on Tuesday amid escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington following recent military confrontations and stalled diplomatic engagements.
Khamenei said the United States was gradually losing its ability to maintain a stable military presence across the Middle East, insisting that regional dynamics were shifting away from American influence.
“What is certain in this regard is that the hands of time will not turn backwards, and the nations and lands of the region will no longer serve as shields for American bases,” he stated.
The Iranian leader further declared that the United States no longer enjoys secure operational footing in the region. He said America was “moving further and further away from its former position with each passing day.”
The statement comes amid renewed uncertainty surrounding negotiations between Iran and the United States, as well as growing geopolitical tensions involving Israel and several Gulf states.
Analysts believe the latest remarks reflect Iran’s increasing confidence in its regional alliances and military capabilities following years of confrontation with Washington.
The comments are also expected to heighten concerns over the security of US military installations and personnel stationed across the Middle East.
