The Federal Government has welcomed the suspension of the teachers strike in Oyo State, describing the development as a significant victory for dialogue, collaboration and the education of Nigerian children.

In a statement issued by the Federal Ministry of Education, the government said the resolution followed sustained engagement between the ministry, the Oyo State Government and the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), paving the way for teachers to return to classrooms and restore uninterrupted learning across the state.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, commended Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and the leadership of the NUT for resolving the dispute through dialogue.

Alausa reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to ensuring that every Nigerian child has access to quality education despite prevailing security and other challenges affecting the sector.

The ministry also praised teachers for their resilience and dedication, pledging continued collaboration with state governments, teachers unions and security agencies to improve school safety and protect every child's right to uninterrupted, quality education.

The government expressed optimism that the return of teachers to the classrooms would help restore normal academic activities in public schools across Oyo State and prevent further disruption to students' learning.
