President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a powerful call for national unity and renewed civic resilience, using his official 2026 Eid-el-Kabir address to reassure the citizenry that his administration’s sweeping structural policies are successfully steering the country toward definitive economic stability and heightened public safety.
In a comprehensive 15-paragraph Sallah dispatch delivered on Tuesday to Muslim faithful across the Federation and the global diaspora, the President framed the current era as a demanding but non-negotiable chapter of institutional reconstruction. Acknowledging the sharp socio-economic friction caused by recent state policies over the past three years, the Commander-in-Chief insisted that these foundational adjustments were vital to rescue the national economy from structural collapse and erect a prosperous terrain for future generations.
“As a nation, we are on a journey of reconstruction and renewal," the President stated. "The reforms we have undertaken are challenging but necessary to build a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria for future generations. Just as sacrifice brings reward, I am happy that the sacrifices and efforts we have made over the past three years have yielded a more stable economy, making our country a preferred investment destination that will drive job creation and economic growth. The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here.”
Turning his attention directly to security, President Tinubu mixed his celebratory messages with a stern, unyielding warning to insurgent networks, bandit cells and syndicated criminal groups currently threatening local communities. He emphasized that the nation’s intelligence apparatus and kinetic military units have intensified their offensive momentum, pointing directly to the recent high-profile neutralization of a deeply wanted ISIS commander as a testament to the military's growing tactical capacity.
Despite these high-level operational victories, the President candidly admitted that pockets of asymmetric violence and heartless raids continue to plague vulnerable border towns and rural agrarian settlements. He issued an absolute guarantee to the survivors and residents of these embattled regions, declaring that they have neither been forgotten nor abandoned by the state and issued an ultimatum to active criminals to lay down their arms immediately or be systematically dismantled by the full weight of the law.
To reinforce this stabilization blueprint, the President promised an escalated deployment of capital funding directly into national defense assets, critical transport infrastructure, agricultural subsidies and long-term human capital development. He urged the public to utilize the holy period of the Festival of Sacrifice which honours the enduring virtues of faith, obedience and selflessness exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim to pray for sustainable peace across the states while extending radical acts of material support to less privileged demographics.

Meanwhile, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu also appealed to Nigerians to continue praying for peace, stability and prosperity in the country.
In her Sallah message, the First Lady encouraged citizens to live peacefully with one another and show compassion to the less privileged during the festive season. She urged Nigerians to uphold the values of love, sacrifice and unity which define the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
