The Deputy Inspector-General of Police supervising the South-East geopolitical zone, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, has called for stronger collaboration among security agencies, traditional institutions and communities to address security challenges and improve public safety in Imo State.
Onwuemelie made the call during an operational visit to the Imo State Police Command on Friday as part of his strategic assessment tour of the South-East, in line with directives from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu.
The DIG was received at the command headquarters by the Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Audu Garba Bosso, members of the command management team and other senior officers.

The DIG also underscored the need for stronger partnerships between the police, other security agencies, government institutions, traditional rulers, community leaders and relevant stakeholders, noting that security remains a collective responsibility.
According to him, addressing emerging security threats requires coordinated action and sustained cooperation among all actors involved in maintaining peace and order.
Onwuemelie further highlighted the Nigeria Police Force's commitment to embracing modern crime-fighting tools, including artificial intelligence, drones and other technological innovations aimed at improving intelligence gathering, surveillance and investigations.
As part of the visit, the DIG paid a courtesy call on the traditional ruler, Eze Imo, Eze (Dr.) E.C. Okeke, where he sought continued support from traditional institutions in strengthening security across the state.
