The Delta State Government says it has commenced a wide-ranging digital transformation and institutional reform programme aimed at improving public service delivery across the state.

The Head of Service, Mininim Oseji, disclosed this on Monday during a press briefing at the Ministry of Information in Asaba to announce activities marking the 2026 Civil Service Week, themed “Reforms, Resilience and Results.”

Oseji said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening institutions, improving efficiency and modernising administrative processes within the state civil service.

According to her, the reforms are designed to build a more resilient workforce capable of delivering measurable results while adapting to emerging governance challenges.

“We are taking deliberate steps to strengthen our institutions, equip our personnel and modernise our service processes,” she said.

She explained that the plan includes upgrading digital infrastructure, enhancing inter-agency collaboration and promoting merit-based and inclusive practices across the civil service structure.

A key component of the reform agenda is the transformation of the state’s staff training centre into a world-class institution modelled after the Singapore Civil Service College.

Oseji said the upgraded facility would combine digital learning platforms, modern physical infrastructure, ICT systems and partnerships with reputable training organisations to build capacity within the public sector.

She expressed confidence that the centre would become a leading hub for 21st-century public service training in Nigeria.

She also noted that the reforms are being extended to local government administration through collaboration with relevant state agencies to ensure uniform standards and improved service delivery across all levels of governance.

Oseji commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his support for civil service reforms, describing his administration’s commitment as key to driving the ongoing transformation agenda.
