Award-winning Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that maintaining his status as one of Africa's biggest music exports comes at a significant financial cost, disclosing that he spends between ₦300 million and ₦400 million every month.

The Grammy-nominated singer made the revelation during a recent livestream with content creator Davrel, where he spoke candidly about the financial realities of operating at the highest level of the global music industry.

According to Davido, his average monthly expenditure ranges from $200,000 to $300,000, which he estimated to be about ₦300 million to ₦400 million.

The singer explained that the amount covers only part of his regular expenses and does not include several major financial commitments.

"I spend between $200,000 and $300,000 every month and that doesn't even include my wife's expenses or the rest of my household," Davido said.

He added that the figure also excludes purchases of luxury cars and expensive jewellery, meaning his overall spending can be considerably higher in months when he acquires high-value assets.

"It also doesn't include expenses for the purchase of luxury cars and jewellery," he added.

Davido's comments offer a rare insight into the financial demands of being an internationally recognised entertainer. Beyond personal expenses, global music stars often shoulder the costs of managing large teams, international travel, security, logistics, production, business operations and other commitments required to sustain careers on the world stage.

Over the past decade, Davido has established himself as one of Africa's most commercially successful musicians, releasing multiple hit records, selling out concerts across continents and securing several international endorsement deals. His success has consistently placed him among Nigeria's highest-earning entertainers and one of the continent's most influential music figures.

His remarks have since generated widespread reactions on social media, with fans expressing surprise at the scale of his monthly spending while others pointed to the enormous costs associated with maintaining a global entertainment brand.
