Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) has launched a whistleblower initiative offering a ₦500,000 reward to members of the public who provide credible information leading to the arrest of individuals involved in the illegal use of the company's branded trucks.

The initiative forms part of the conglomerate's efforts to curb unauthorised haulage activities, protect its logistics operations and strengthen compliance across its nationwide transportation network.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the company urged Nigerians to report any suspected cases of Dangote trucks being used to transport unauthorised goods or passengers.

According to the company, each category of its trucks is restricted to specific products.

Dangote Cement trucks are authorised to transport only cement, limestone, high-grade gypsum, coal and clinker, while Dangote Sugar Refinery vehicles are designated exclusively for sugar products.

Similarly, trucks belonging to NASCON Allied Industries are approved to carry only Dangote Salt and DanQ Seasoning products.

Dangote Packaging vehicles are restricted to transporting bags and other packaging materials, while Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals trucks are authorised to convey polypropylene products. Dangote Fertiliser Limited trucks are designated solely for the transportation of urea fertiliser.

The company warned that any of its branded trucks found transporting unauthorised goods would be regarded as engaging in illegal haulage.

It added that drivers and owners of such goods risk arrest, confiscation of the cargo and prosecution.

"Anyone with verifiable information that leads to the arrest of persons involved in illegal haulage activities or the recovery of unauthorised goods transported on Dangote trucks will receive a cash reward of Five Hundred Thousand Naira," the company said.

Dangote urged whistleblowers to provide relevant details, including the truck's registration number, cab number, location, vehicle description, type of goods being transported and photographs where available to assist investigations.

The company disclosed that dedicated hotlines have been established across its operations to receive reports from members of the public.

It also said law enforcement agencies, including the Nigeria Police Force, have been authorised to arrest drivers found using Dangote trucks for unauthorised commercial haulage.

Reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy against logistics-related fraud, Dangote Industries said the whistleblower programme is designed to improve transparency, accountability and operational integrity throughout its logistics chain.

The company added that public participation would play a critical role in eliminating illegal haulage, protecting corporate assets and ensuring offenders are brought to justice.
