An Abuja High Court sitting in Apo has ordered the final forfeiture of assets worth more than N8.9 billion linked to businesswoman Aisha Achimugu to the Federal Government.
The assets include jewellery valued at N4.645 billion, 11 exotic vehicles worth N4.293 billion, $50,000 in cash, and N30 million in cash.
Justice Jude Onwugbuzie issued the order on Thursday, July 16, 2026, while delivering judgment on an application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) seeking the permanent forfeiture of the assets.
The anti-graft agency had asked the court to make absolute an earlier forfeiture order, arguing that the properties were liable to be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government.
Granting the application, the court ordered that all the listed assets be finally forfeited.
The forfeited properties comprise high-value jewellery, a fleet of 11 luxury vehicles, foreign currency and naira cash holdings previously linked to Achimugu during the course of legal proceedings.
According to the judgment delivered by Justice Onwugbuzie, the assets are to remain in the custody of the Federal Government following the court's final forfeiture order.
The ruling marks another significant victory for the EFCC in its efforts to recover assets through judicial forfeiture proceedings.
Although the court affirmed the forfeiture of the assets, details of the underlying allegations or ongoing criminal proceedings connected to the properties were not contained in the ruling released on Thursday.
