Court Grants Blessing CEO ₦20m Bail in Alleged ₦69m Fraud Trial

A Lagos State Special Offences Court has granted bail to social media influencer Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, in the sum of ₦20 million as she stands trial over an alleged ₦69 million fraud.

Justice Oshodi admitted the defendant to bail on Thursday with two responsible sureties in the same amount.

As part of the bail conditions, the court directed that each surety must present either a three-year bank statement or proof of a fixed deposit worth at least ₦20 million.

The judge also ordered that Blessing Okoro and her sureties undergo verification through the Lagos State Judiciary’s Bail Information Management System (BIMS) before the bail can be perfected.

During the proceedings, the court requested the defendant’s international passport as part of the conditions for her release. However, her counsel informed the court that the passport had been misplaced and tendered an affidavit of loss alongside a copy of a public notice to support the claim.

Following the explanation, Justice Oshodi directed that the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) be formally notified of travel restrictions imposed on the defendant pending the determination of the case.

The court subsequently adjourned the matter until October 12, 2026, for the continuation of trial.

Blessing Okoro is also facing a separate criminal case before the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, where she is standing trial on a two-count charge bordering on alleged obtaining money by false pretence and stealing involving ₦36 million.
