The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has fixed Saturday, June 13, 2026, for the conduct of the mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination for candidates who were unable to sit for the 2026 UTME despite being successfully verified biometrically.

The examination body disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday by its Public Communication Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin. According to JAMB, the mop-up examination is designed to accommodate candidates affected by technical glitches, operational disruptions, biometric verification problems and other examination-related challenges recorded during the main exercise.

The Board explained that the 2026 UTME was conducted between April 16 and April 29, 2026, but several centres experienced technical and operational difficulties which prevented some candidates from taking the examination.

JAMB described the mop-up exercise as the final phase of the 2026 UTME process and said it was aimed at resolving all outstanding cases involving candidates who genuinely presented themselves for the examination but were unable to participate due to circumstances beyond their control.

“The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has fixed Saturday, 13th June, 2026 for the conduct of the UTME mop-up examination for all candidates who presented themselves and were biometrically verified for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination but were unable to sit the examination for one reason or another,” the statement read.

The Board further disclosed that candidates whose results were withdrawn over examination infractions, as well as candidates who could not be verified biometrically during the main examination, had also been rescheduled for the mop-up exercise.

JAMB advised all affected candidates to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips from Saturday, June 6, 2026, ahead of the examination date.

The Board urged candidates to familiarize themselves with their assigned examination centres early and make adequate logistical arrangements to avoid missing what it described as the final opportunity to participate in the 2026 UTME.

“There will be no further opportunity for any candidate to sit the 2026 UTME after this mop-up exercise,” the Board warned.

JAMB reiterated its commitment to fairness, transparency and equal opportunity for all candidates while assuring the public that adequate measures had been put in place to ensure a smooth and credible conduct of the examination nationwide.

The Board also advised candidates to strictly comply with examination regulations and avoid all forms of malpractice or misconduct during the exercise.
