Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy has become the African artist with the highest number of entries on the prestigious Billboard Hot 100, overtaking fellow Nigerian star Tems.
The milestone was achieved after Burna Boy's World Cup collaboration, Dai Dai, debuted at No. 75 on the latest Billboard Hot 100 chart, giving him a record nine entries and breaking the previous tie with Tems at eight.
The song, recorded with Colombian global music icon Shakira, gained significant traction following the duo’s performance at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico.
Beyond setting a new African record, Burna Boy has also become the first African artist to secure at least one Billboard Hot 100 entry in six consecutive years, underlining his sustained global influence and commercial success.
His Billboard Hot 100 appearances now include songs such as Loved By You (2021), Last Last (2022), Sittin' On Top Of The World and Talibans II (2023), Just Like Me and We Pray (2024), WGFT (2025) as well as Only You and Dai Dai in 2026.
The latest achievement further cements Burna Boy’s status as one of Africa’s most successful global music exports and a leading figure in the international rise of Afrobeats.
