Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has approved minor changes to the State Executive Council, with three commissioners exiting the cabinet as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.
A statement issued on Friday by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, said the adjustments were aimed at repositioning the administration for greater efficiency and effective implementation of government programmes.
Those affected include the Commissioner for Commerce, Industries and Investment, Mohammed Salis Gamawa, and the immediate past Commissioner for Education, Dr. Mohammed Lawal Rimin Zayam, who was later reassigned to the Ministry of Power, Science and Technology.
The governor also accepted the resignation of the former Commissioner for Rural Development and Special Duties, Hon. Faruk Mustapha.
According to the statement, Governor Mohammed has forwarded the names of proposed replacements, alongside nominees to fill other vacant positions created by earlier exits from the cabinet, to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The governor expressed appreciation to the outgoing commissioners for their contributions and commitment to the development of Bauchi State during their time in office.
He wished them success in their future endeavours while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to building a more responsive and result-oriented government focused on delivering better services to residents.
The latest cabinet adjustment comes as state governments continue to review their executive structures to improve performance and align ministries with emerging governance priorities.
