President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally entered the 2027 presidential race after submitting his All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential nomination form, confirming Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate for the next general election.
The nomination forms were submitted on the President's behalf by his Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Ibrahim Masari, during a brief ceremony attended by APC leaders at the Continental Hotel in Abuja.
Speaking after the submission, Masari announced that President Tinubu had successfully completed the party's nomination process and would seek a second term on the APC platform alongside Vice President Shettima.

According to him, the decision to retain Shettima reflects the party's confidence in the existing leadership and its commitment to continuity ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The submission officially confirms Tinubu's bid for re-election and signals the APC's decision to maintain the Tinubu-Shettima ticket for the forthcoming presidential poll.
With the nomination process completed, attention is expected to shift to the party's internal processes and preparations for the 2027 general election, as political activities continue to gather momentum across the country.
