Zamfara Government Suspends Polytechnic Rector Over Alleged Misconduct

Zamfara State Government has approved the immediate suspension of the Rector of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talata Mafara, Dr. Sirajo Abdullahi Shinkafi, over allegations of gross administrative misconduct and insubordination.

The decision was announced in a statement personally signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada.

According to the statement, the suspension takes immediate effect pending further actions by the government regarding the allegations levelled against the rector.

The government did not provide details of the alleged offences but stated that the action was necessary in the interest of accountability and proper administration within the institution.

It assured members of the Polytechnic community, including students, academic staff and other stakeholders, that adequate arrangements had been put in place to ensure the smooth and uninterrupted running of the institution during the period of the suspension.

The state government further reiterated its commitment to upholding discipline, transparency and due process across all public institutions in Zamfara State.

No announcement has yet been made regarding an acting rector or the duration of the suspension.
