The Katsina State Government has announced the successful rescue of four kidnap victims by troops of the Nigerian Army during ongoing operations against a notorious bandit network operating in parts of the state.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, the operation forms part of a sustained military campaign aimed at tracking and apprehending the wanted bandit leader, Kachalla Muhammadu Fulani and members of his criminal gang.
The rescued victims were identified as Musa Yakuba 62, Alhaji Sa'adu Dayi 68, Mukhtar Danja 36 and Salisu Danja 50.

Government officials said the victims were freed during military operations in areas where security agencies believe the gang has been operating. Following their rescue, they were immediately taken for medical attention after sustaining gunshot wounds during their period in captivity.
The latest development comes days after security forces successfully rescued Amina Abubakar, the widow of late Major General Rabe Abubakar, who was abducted alongside her husband in Katsina State.
Authorities noted that the four rescued victims had previously appeared in photographs alongside the late retired military officer while they were being held by their captors.

The Katsina State Government praised the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for what it described as their professionalism, courage and unwavering commitment to restoring peace in affected communities.
"Their relentless efforts continue to yield positive results in the fight against banditry and kidnapping across the state," the ministry said.
Officials stressed that security forces remain actively engaged in operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks responsible for attacks, kidnappings and other violent crimes across the state.
The government also assured residents that security agencies remain on the trail of Kachalla Muhammadu Fulani and other suspected criminal leaders. It emphasised that military operations would continue until those responsible for acts of terror and violence against innocent citizens are apprehended and brought to justice.
Reaffirming its commitment to public safety, the Katsina State Government said it would continue working closely with security agencies to ensure that criminal groups have no safe haven anywhere within the state.
The latest rescue is expected to boost public confidence in ongoing security operations as authorities intensify efforts to combat banditry and kidnapping across Katsina and neighbouring states.
