President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday held a strategic meeting with security chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to review the security situation across the country.

The Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, led other service chiefs to the meeting.

During the closed-door session, heads of the various security agencies briefed President Tinubu, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, on ongoing operations and strategies aimed at tackling insecurity in different parts of the country.

The security chiefs acknowledged improvements in Nigeria's security situation and expressed their determination to build on the current gains through sustained operations and enhanced coordination.

They also agreed that intelligence would continue to play a critical role in addressing the nation's security challenges and resolved to strengthen collaboration with neighbouring countries to improve the effectiveness of security operations.

The meeting underscored the Federal Government's continued commitment to strengthening coordination among security agencies as part of efforts to restore peace and stability across the country.

Thursday's meeting comes amid renewed efforts by the Tinubu administration to address insecurity nationwide. As part of those efforts, the President has transmitted the State Police Bill to the National Assembly, seeking the establishment of state police as one of the measures aimed at improving security across the federation.
