The Imo State Police Command has intensified its offensive against criminal activities in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area, with four suspects arrested during a major bush-combing and clearance operation across several forested communities.
The operation, carried out on June 10 by operatives of the Ohaji Divisional Headquarters in collaboration with local vigilante groups, formed part of ongoing proactive security measures approved by the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Audu Garba Bosso.
Security teams swept through forests and difficult terrains around Assa, Ohuba, Ada Palm Plantation and neighbouring communities, areas security authorities believe could serve as hideouts for criminal elements.
According to the police, the exercise was aimed at denying criminals operational bases while strengthening security and public confidence within the affected communities.

Police sources disclosed that officers conducted extensive searches of identified flashpoints and remote locations during the operation. The exercise resulted in the arrest of four male suspects whose identities were not immediately disclosed.
Authorities said the suspects are currently undergoing interrogation as investigators work to determine their possible involvement in criminal activities within the area.
The operation forms part of the command's broader strategy to sustain pressure on criminal networks, dismantle hideouts and improve intelligence gathering across vulnerable communities.
Police authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and security throughout Imo State and assured residents that similar operations would continue in areas identified as security concerns.
Residents have also been urged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by providing timely and credible information capable of assisting ongoing security efforts.
