Victor Osimhen and his Galatasaray teammates were received by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following the club’s Süper Lig title victory.
Galatasaray secured their 26th Turkish league title after finishing ahead of fierce rivals Fenerbahçe in a closely contested campaign.
Osimhen played a key role in the club’s success, scoring 15 league goals and providing five assists in 22 appearances. The Super Eagles striker also impressed in Europe, contributing seven goals and three assists in the UEFA Champions League before Galatasaray were eliminated by Liverpool FC in the round of 16.
Following the title-winning campaign, the entire Galatasaray squad was hosted at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, where players and club officials met with President Erdoğan.
During the reception, Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek presented a club jersey to the Turkish leader, while players exchanged handshakes and posed for photographs.
The Turkish giants are now aiming to make history next season by becoming the first club in the country to win five consecutive league titles if they successfully defend their crown.
Osimhen, who has enjoyed an impressive spell in Turkey, has now won three trophies with Galatasaray, further strengthening his reputation as one of Africa’s top forwards.
The Nigerian striker, however, continues to attract interest from several European clubs, with Chelsea FC, FC Barcelona and FC Bayern Munich among teams reportedly monitoring his situation.
Despite growing transfer speculation, Galatasaray are said to be keen on retaining the forward ahead of next season.
