The Nigeria Police Force has recorded a major breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping and violent crime, with the rescue of five kidnapped victims and the neutralisation of four suspected kidnappers within 48 hours of launching Operation KO S'AYE across Lagos and Ogun states.
The joint security operation, conducted by the Lagos and Ogun State Police Commands, also resulted in the arrest of four suspected kidnappers during coordinated raids targeting criminal hideouts along the forest boundaries linking both states.
According to the police, the successful operation was carried out in the J3/J4 axis of Ogbere in Ogun State, an area identified as a key corridor used by criminal gangs operating between Lagos and Ogun.
Beyond the anti-kidnapping operation, police said 84 additional suspects were arrested for various criminal offences, bringing the total number of arrests recorded within the first 48 hours of the operation to 88.

Security operatives also recovered arms, ammunition and other incriminating exhibits during the coordinated raids.
The Nigeria Police Force described the early achievements as a significant milestone in its renewed offensive against kidnapping and organised crime, noting that Operation KO S'AYE was designed to dismantle criminal networks through intelligence-led operations and sustained tactical deployments.
According to the Force, the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to deny kidnappers and other violent criminals safe havens within the Lagos-Ogun corridor, particularly around forested areas often exploited as operational bases.
Reaffirming its commitment to public safety, the Police assured residents that security operations would continue across identified flashpoints, stressing that there would be no hiding place for kidnappers and other criminal elements.
The Force added that intelligence-driven operations would remain central to its strategy of disrupting criminal activities, strengthening security and protecting lives and property across both states.
