According to the command, the gathering allegedly involved meetings, chanting, consumption of alcoholic beverages and attempts to initiate new members.
Acting on the intelligence, the Commander of the VCRU mobilised a combined team of operatives who stormed the location and disrupted the event before it could proceed further.
“The operatives stormed the location, dispersed the gathering and arrested the suspects in a well-coordinated tactical operation,” the statement said.
During the raid, police recovered four vehicles allegedly abandoned by fleeing suspects. Other items recovered at the scene included a jackknife, a local drum, a traditional rattle known as “sekere,” and several bottles suspected to have been used for alcohol consumption during the gathering.
The suspects have since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation. Police authorities said efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest other suspects who escaped during the operation.
The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the officers involved in the operation for what he described as their professionalism, discipline and swift response.

He also urged residents to remain vigilant and continue providing timely information to security agencies, noting that community cooperation remains crucial in the fight against crime.
The police assured members of the public that investigations are ongoing and that all suspects found culpable would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
