The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has uploaded the name of former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination portal as its vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
The development was made known following a meeting between Kwankwaso and NDC National Leader, Henry Seriake Dickson, who confirmed that the former governor's details had been successfully uploaded to the INEC portal after the party concluded its presidential primary and other internal nomination processes.
Kwankwaso in a post on X also confirmed the development.
‘’I was delighted to welcome my brother and National Leader of our great party, the NDC, His Excellency Henry Seriake Dickson, to my residence in Abuja.
‘’I took the opportunity to brief him on the highly productive engagements and consultations I have undertaken across the North West states, which have yielded very encouraging results.
‘’HE Dickson confirmed the successful submission of my candidacy and also announced that my name has been duly uploaded on the INEC portal as the Vice Presidential candidate to His Excellency Peter Obi on the platform of our party.’’
The update comes a day after the NDC confirmed that it had uploaded the name of its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination portal for the 2027 general election.
