Mutfwang Reshuffles Security Team, Appoints New Adviser, Operation Rainbow Coordinator

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has approved a fresh reorganisation of his administration's security structure with the appointment of a new Special Adviser on Security and a new Coordinator of Operation Rainbow, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the state's response to security challenges.

The appointments were announced on Tuesday in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Samuel Jatau, in Jos.

According to the statement, retired Maj.-Gen. Bala Isandu has been appointed as the governor's new Special Adviser on Security, replacing retired Brig.-Gen. Gakji Shipi.

Shipi has, however, been redeployed to serve as the Coordinator of the Safe School Initiative, a programme aimed at enhancing security in educational institutions across Plateau State.

In a related appointment, Governor Mutfwang named retired Brig.-Gen. Nash Yakubu as the new Coordinator of Operation Rainbow, the state-owned security outfit established to complement conventional security agencies in intelligence gathering, conflict prevention and community-based security operations.

Congratulating the newly appointed officials, Governor Mutfwang urged them to approach their assignments with integrity, professionalism and dedication.

He charged them to uphold the highest standards of public service while deploying their military and security experience to confront the evolving security challenges facing Plateau State.

According to the governor, the appointments are expected to reinforce ongoing efforts by his administration to improve security, protect lives and property, and sustain peace across the state.

Mutfwang also encouraged the appointees to work closely with security agencies, community leaders and other stakeholders to enhance intelligence gathering and strengthen coordinated responses to security threats.
