Manchester United has officially secured the long-term future of club legend Michael Carrick, confirming his appointment as the permanent head coach with a new contract extension.
The fresh agreement is set to keep the former midfielder at the helm until June 2028, effectively solidifying his leadership role as the club enters its next chapter.
Reports indicate that the deal is fully completed and signed. Beyond the initial four-year commitment, the contract also includes a specific option to further extend his stay at Old Trafford until June 2029.
While initial speculations had suggested a shorter, two-year agreement, the finalized terms confirm a much longer commitment from the club’s hierarchy, completing Carrick's transition from a celebrated former player to the manager tasked with leading the team's future campaigns.
