Maharaj Ji Demands Ramaphosa's Resignation Over Xenophobic Attacks

Spiritual leader and founder of the One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has called for the resignation or impeachment of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, accusing him of failing to provide decisive leadership in the wake of recent xenophobic attacks targeting African migrants in South Africa.

In a statement titled "President Ramaphosa: Traitor to African Liberation! Go Go Away," Maharaj Ji alleged that the South African government's response to the violence was slow and inadequate, arguing that the attacks have led to the destruction of lives, businesses and decades of social and economic relationships between South Africans and other African nationals.

According to the spiritual leader, Ramaphosa failed to take timely action to protect black African migrants, describing the president's intervention as belated and insufficient.

He further alleged that the xenophobic attacks have undermined the ideals of pan-Africanism by creating divisions among Africans and weakening opportunities for greater economic and social cooperation across the continent.

Maharaj Ji also claimed that African migrants, including Nigerians and Ghanaians, have made significant contributions to South Africa's economy through entrepreneurship, skills development and employment generation, insisting that their role should be recognised rather than met with hostility.

The One Love Family founder criticised what he described as the South African government's handling of post-apartheid economic challenges, alleging that the administration had failed to address inequalities while allowing frustration to be directed at foreign nationals.

Calling for stronger continental action, Maharaj Ji urged the South African Parliament to initiate a vote of no confidence in President Ramaphosa, while also asking the African Union (AU) to suspend the South African leader from participating in its activities until, according to him, he demonstrates a stronger commitment to protecting African lives and promoting continental unity.

He expressed sympathy for victims of the recent attacks and appealed to African governments to provide support and assistance to their citizens affected by the violence.

Maharaj Ji concluded by urging African leaders to embrace policies that promote unity, justice and equal treatment irrespective of nationality, saying the continent requires leadership committed to peace, human dignity and the welfare of all Africans.
