Canadian pop superstar Justin Bieber has joined an impressive lineup of global artists set to perform during the halftime show of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final in New York.

Bieber will share the stage with music icons including Madonna, Colombian superstar Shakira and South Korean K-pop group BTS for the tournament’s first-ever Super Bowl-style halftime performance scheduled for 19 July.

The 11-minute show will also feature Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy, renowned conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus, a collaboration featuring Coldplay and characters from Sesame Street.

The performance is being organised in support of the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aimed at raising $100 million to support education programmes for children around the world.

Bieber’s appearance marks another major return to the global spotlight after the singer made a comeback performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival earlier in 2026.

The performance was his biggest live appearance in four years after he cancelled his Justice World Tour following health challenges.

During his Coachella set, Bieber performed several of his biggest hits, including songs such as “Baby,” “Never Say Never,” “One Time” and “Beauty and a Beat.”

"The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can," Bieber said while confirming his involvement.

The halftime show has been curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin and is expected to combine football, music and global culture as millions of fans watch the World Cup final.

Shakira and Burna Boy, who performed during the tournament’s opening celebrations across the three host nations, the United States, Canada and Mexico will return for the closing spectacle.

The pair have also enjoyed worldwide success during the tournament with their collaboration “Dai Dai”, which has become closely associated with the competition.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup, expanded for the first time to 48 teams, began on June 11 across the three North American host countries.

All three host nations have since exited the tournament, leaving eight teams competing for football’s biggest prize.

The quarter-finals continue with:

France vs Morocco in Boston

Spain vs Belgium in Los Angeles

Norway vs England in Miami

Argentina vs Switzerland in Kansas City

Argentina captain Lionel Messi currently leads the Golden Boot race with eight goals, followed by France’s Kylian Mbappe and Norway’s Erling Haaland, who have seven each.

England striker Harry Kane remains in contention with six goals as teams battle for a place in the final showdown in New York.
