Ekiti State Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Biodun Oyebanji, has dismissed allegations of voter intimidation and harassment raised by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Wole Oluyede, insisting that such claims must be supported with credible evidence.
Oyebanji spoke shortly after casting his vote at Polling Unit 003, Okelele, Ikogosi-Ekiti, in Ekiti West Local Government Area during Saturday's governorship election.
The governor, who voted alongside his wife, Olayemi Oyebanji, described the electoral process as peaceful, orderly and encouraging, expressing satisfaction with the conduct of voters and election officials.

Reacting to allegations earlier made by the PDP candidate regarding intimidation at his polling unit, Oyebanji said any complaint should be accompanied by verifiable proof.
He maintained that security agencies and electoral officials had so far conducted themselves professionally and that the process remained largely peaceful across the state.

The APC candidate also urged eligible voters who had yet to cast their ballots to come out and participate in the election, stressing the importance of civic engagement in strengthening democracy.
According to him, the election presents an opportunity for residents to freely determine the future direction of the state through the ballot box.

His comments come amid a growing war of words between the APC and PDP camps after Oluyede alleged that police officers intimidated voters at his polling unit and threatened legal action over what he described as a flawed electoral process.
