The student, identified simply as Miss Fumilayo, was abducted alongside other victims in an incident that sparked concern within the university community.

"The University of Ibadan Students Union is pleased to inform the university community that our student, Miss Fumilayo, a 300-level student of the Faculty of Law, who was abducted alongside other individuals, has been safely released," the statement read.

According to the Union, all those released are currently undergoing post-release procedures before returning to their respective destinations.

"The released individuals are currently undergoing the necessary post-release procedures and will return to their respective destinations as arrangements are concluded.

"We have been assured that our student will safely return to the university community in due course," the Union stated.

It described their collective intervention as instrumental in achieving the successful outcome.

The Union also thanked members of the university community for their prayers, patience and solidarity throughout the period of uncertainty, noting that the support provided encouragement to the affected families and the institution.

It further prayed for the full recovery, healing and restoration of all those affected by the abduction as they begin the process of returning to normal life.
